Topsoe has signed a contract supplying technologies for three new plants with oil refiner PetroPeru. The contract includes license and basic engineering of process design for the Talara refinery in Peru.

Haldor Topsøe will demonstrate a new technology in the USA – a technology which converts wood to fuel.
The American Department of Energy (DOE) has recently announced that the technology will be supported with 25 million USD under the US Recovery Act.

Topsoe has signed a design contract for a new plant for production of substitute natural gas (SNG). Once on stream the plant will produce close to 180,000 Nm³/h of substitute natural gas using Topsoe’s TREMP™ technology.

Topsoe is involved in an EU project about biorefineries. The project, which involves partners from 15 countries, has just received 23 million EUR as funding from EU’s Seventh Framework Programme.

Topsoe will supply ammonia synthesis technology for the world's largest ammonia plant. The plant will produce more than 3,500 tonnes of ammonia per day.

Topsoe and the Danish Technological Institute have received 1 million EUR from the Danish Energy Agency for a project aiming to turn bioethanol into an economic and sustainable replacement of fossil fuels for diesel vehicles.
The funding is part of the “Energy Development and Demonstration Programme” aimed at the development and demonstration of energy technologies.

Topsoe and Petrobras, Brazil, have signed a contract for hydrogen, hydrotreater and SNOX™ units for a new RNEST refinery.
The refinery is a new 200,000 BPSD project named Abreu e Lima Refinery, which will be located in Pernambuco, Brazil.

Haldor Topsoe has signed contracts with the Iranian companies Marjan Petrochemical and Kimiaye Pars for supply of technology for two methanol plants – both with involvement from National Petrochemical Company.

Topsoe has signed a contract with the Chinese company Bluestar for a WSA plant. The WSA plant is the largest WSA plant ever supplied to China with a capacity of 2 x 300 MTPD.

Topsoe will participate in the construction of the world’s first plant producing DME from biomass. Within 18 months the plant will supply four to five tonnes daily of the new biofuel dimethylether, DME.
“Topsoe has extensive DME experience, and we are pleased to be part of this important project, which potentially will make a substantial contribution to solving the energy challenges of tomorrow,” says Technology sales manager Jens Perregaard, Technology Division.

Topsoe and Preem Petroleum AB – the largest oil company in Sweden – have announced that Preem will use Haldor Topsoe renewable diesel technology for producing renewable diesel in their Gothenburg Refinery.
With Topsoe's renewable diesel technology Preem Petroleum AB will be able to produce renewable diesel based on tall oil and animal fats starting in 2009.

A contract for the supply of Topsoe process technology and catalysts for two ammonia plants has been signed with the Algeria Oman Fertilizer Company. “We see this as an important milestone for the coming increased requirement for fertilizers worldwide,” says Jørgen Gøl, Director of Marketing and Sales in the Technology Division.

Vietnam National Chemical Corporation – Vinachem – has contracted Topsoe for supply of license, engineering, proprietary equipment and catalysts for the ammonia synthesis unit of the new coal-based urea plant. With a capacity of 560,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser pr. year the plant will become Vietnam’s second largest.
