Steam reforming features
Steam reforming is used in the production of synthesis gas from feedstocks including natural gas, refinery off-gases, LPG or naphtha. Topsoe's fundamental knowledge of steam reforming reactions and the complex interaction between heat transfer and reaction kinetics has resulted in the development of superior steam reforming technologies and catalysts.
Topsoe's range of steam reforming catalysts are high activity catalysts with excellent poisoning resistance, good mechanical strength and low pressure drop.
Steam reforming portfolio
Topsoe's steam reforming portfolio includes several technologies:
Individual process layout
In each case the operating conditions in the steam reformer are selected on the basis of feedstock characteristics, plant capacity, product specifications, desired steam production etc. The process layout is selected to ensure maximum reliability and minimum production costs by the best possible integration of the steam reforming process and the waste heat recovery.
Topsoe's steam reforming experience
Over the past 50 years, Topsoe has continuously focused on the development of new steam reforming technologies and catalysts. This has resulted in more than 250 steam reforming units with Topsoe design and a position as a leading supplier of steam reforming catalysts.
