Haldor Topsoe A/S has recently been awarded a contract for the revamp of a 60,000 and a 70,000 BPSD hydrotreating unit to be converted to produce Ultra-low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD) at the LG-Caltex refinery in Yosu, Korea.

The revamped ULSD units will give a product containing less than 8 wppm of S and a colour of L1.0. The stringent colour specification requires the use of Topsoe's proprietary colour post treatment for reducing the product colour to L1.0.

Topsoe's scope of supply includes license, basic engineering, supply of reactor internals and catalysts, as well as supervisory services.
