To maintain and ensure focus on the electrical heater business, and at the same time for Haldor Topsoe A/S to strengthen main business activities, it has been decided to divest the electrical heater technology to a competent equipment design and manufacturing company within this business segment.

The Topsoe electric heaters have been manufactured since the 1950’ies and were originally developed as start-up and process heaters for ammonia plants. Throughout the years, Topsoe has supplied a considerable number of heaters for various applications with output up to 8 MW.

In search of a buyer of the heater technology, it has been essential for Topsoe to find a company with the necessary interest and competencies to ensure that existing clients have undisrupted access to spare parts and new electric heaters. Therefore, Topsoe agreed with one of the world’s most important producers of electric heaters, the German company Klöpper-Therm, that they will take over the sales and production of the electric heaters that Topsoe has hitherto sold and produced.

From July 2004 Klöpper-Therm handles requests for spare parts, new electric heaters and trouble-shooting regarding the Topsoe electric heater technology.
