Topsoe Catalysts Selected for Hydrocracking Unit at SRC Refinery, Singapore

01-12-2004
Topsoe has obtained a new catalyst reload order for a new hydrocracking client in November 2004. This is the 9th reload of high quality Topsoe hydrocracking catalysts in the last four years:

Singapore Refining Company Pte Ltd (SRC) has decided to load the first reactor of their hydrocracker with Topsoe’s TK-565 pretreating catalyst, and the first bed of the second hydrocracking reactor with Topsoe’s hydrocracking catalyst TK-931. SRC HCU-2 unit is a high pressure and high conversion hydrocracker with a capacity of 16,000 BPSD. The unit operates in recycle mode, and the main goal is to maximise production of middle-distillates with preference towards jet fuel.

In September 2004, BP Toledo’s Refinery reloaded the first stage of their hydrocracker with Topsoe’s TK-931 hydrocracking catalyst, combined with Topsøe’s TK-565 pretreating catalyst.

Saras S.p.A. has for the second time in March 2004, fully reloaded their hydrocracker in Italy with Topsoe’s hydrocracking catalysts. Fortum’s hydrocracker in Finland is also experiencing a very successful second Topsoe hydrocracking full catalyst reload with excellent middle distillate yields.

SK Corporation started up their 45,000 BPSD hydrocracker with Topsoe’s TK-565 and TK-931 catalysts in both reactors in May 2003. SK’s hydrocracker, one of the world’s most complex and largest hydrocrackers, has improved performance due to Topsoe’s catalyst system. Preem AB in Sweden installed an initial charge of Topsoe’s hydrocracking catalysts in June 2003 after providing the license with a Topsoe Process Design Package and Basic Engineering Design.
