To meet the rising demand for cleaning of diesel exhaust from diesel vehicles, Haldor Topsøe A/S is expanding the production capacity of catalysts for automotive applications.

The predominant NOx emission control technology today for heavy duty diesel vehicles to comply with recent Euro IV and Euro V legislation is catalytic SCR DeNOx systems. Topsøe has a long tradition within SCR technology and is today a leading supplier of SCR DeNOx catalysts for removal of NOx from among others stationary engines, boilers, gas turbines and waste incineration plants by the SCR DeNOx process. Topsøe has now successfully adapted their product for automotive applications and is therefore preparing for large-scale production of automotive catalysts.

With the completion of this expansion of the manufacturing facilities this spring, the production capacity of Topsøe's automotive catalysts will be increased to more than 2,000 m3 per year.
