Topsoe has recently been selected as licensor for two identical 18,200 BPSD Naphtha Hydrotreating Units and two identical 53,000 BPSD Kerosene Hydrotreating Units. The units are for the new refinery project in Kuwait by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

The new Naphtha hydrotreating units will be designed for pretreatment of the feed to the new hydrogen production units, and the Kerosene hydrotreaters will be designed to produce low sulphur jet fuel with a product sulphur content of maximum 7 wppm and a smoke point of minimum 25 mm.

Topsoe's scope of supply includes license, basic engineering and catalysts, as well as supervisory services.

Besides the award for the naphtha and kerosene hydrotreaters, KNPC has also awarded Topsoe a contract for the supply of four big hydrogen production plants, with a total capacity of more than 600,000 Nm3/hr.
