Haldor Topsoe has been awarded a contract for the revamp of a 41,000 BPSD hydrotreating unit to be converted to produce Ultra-low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD) at the Mazeikiu Nafta refinery in Lithuania in order to produce EURO IV specification Diesel.
The revamped ULSD units will give a product containing less than 8 wppm of sulphur, and will apply Topsoe’s high active TK-576 BRIMTM Cobalt Molybdenum hydroprocessing catalyst. Topsoe's scope of supply includes license, revamp study, basic engineering, detailed engineering of new reactor, supply of Topsoe’s proprietary reactor internals and catalysts, as well as supervisory services. It’s expected that the revamp will be fully implemented in early 2007.
