Caltex Australia Petroleum Pty Limited has selected Haldor Topsoe as licensor for a grassroots 3,000 MTPD diesel hydrotreater for production of Ultra-Low-Sulphur-Diesel (ULSD) with maximum 8 wt pmm sulphur at their Lytton refinery in Brisbane, Australia. A contract has been signed related to license, basic engineering, reactor internals, catalyst and technical services. Caltex has a very tight schedule and requires a rapid implementation and therefore wanted the selected licensor to work closely with the pre-selected Contractor in order to reduce the overall project schedule.

The reward of the diesel unit in Lytton is a continuation of the good relationship between Topsoe and the ChevronTexaco and Caltex organisations. Today, two Topsoe designed diesel units in GS Caltex, Korea, and two units in ChevronTexaco, Pembroke, UK, are producing ULSD.
