Frontier El Dorado Refining Company has successfully started up a new diesel hydrotreater at their El Dorado Refinery. This Topsoe licensed unit reached design rate and was operating on design feed (blend of coker diesel, FCC light cycle oil, and straight run diesel) within one week after start-up. Between 15-18 MBPD (63-75%) of the total 24 MBPD throughput was cracked stocks.

The unit produced ULSD in time to meet the June 1 regulatory deadline in the U.S. Topsoe provided a reactor design package, catalysts, and reactor internals for this unit.
