Preem Petroleum AB selects Topsoe renewable energy diesel technology

Topsoe and Preem Petroleum AB – the largest oil company in Sweden – have announced that Preem will use Haldor Topsoe renewable diesel technology for producing renewable diesel in their Gothenburg Refinery. With Topsoe's renewable diesel technology Preem Petroleum AB will be able to produce renewable diesel based on tall oil and animal fats starting in 2009.

Topsoe and Preem Petroleum AB – the largest oil company in Sweden – have announced that Preem will use Haldor Topsøe renewable diesel technology for producing renewable diesel in their Gothenburg Refinery.

By selecting Topsoe renewable diesel technology Preem Petroleum AB is able to produce renewable diesel based on tall oil and animal fats already from 2009. “The co-processing of renewable diesel based on tall oil and animal fats efficiently minimises carbon resources and provides our clients with a more sustainable product,” said Stefan Nystöm, Head of Business Development in Preem.

“The Haldor Topsøe renewable diesel technology is an innovative technology and catalyst solution solving the challenges of processing renewable diesel minimising capital investment while making efficient use of existing equipment,” says Rasmus Breivik, Sales and Marketing Manager for Refinery Technologies at Haldor Topsoe.

Selecting Haldor Topsøe for this important project is the latest confirmation of years of successful collaboration between the companies.
