Flags were blowing in the wind and many employees and their family had stopped by to wave to the Queen, as she arrived at Topsoe’s catalyst plant in Frederikssund, Denmark.
The Queen visited the catalyst plant as part of her official visit to the town of Frederikssund, where Topsoe’s catalyst plant is the largest employer.

In the courtyard of the old farm, where the story of the catalyst plant start, Dr. Haldor Topsøe talked about the history and development of the catalyst plant, which has been part of the town life for more than 50 years.
The Queen visited the production siteThe Queen, Dr. Haldor Topsøe and Henrik Guldberg Pedersen then walked to one of the production plants. Many employees and visitors took the opportunity to wave and greet the Queen as she walked by.
In the production plant, Morten Sørensen, engineer, and Susanne Hansen, plant operator, showed the products and the robots operating the packing units.
The Queen received a gift in memory of the visit – a small bronze sculpture titled “The Ugly Duckling” by artist Stine Ring.
"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to show the Queen the production plant, which is Frederikssund’s largest employer,” says Henrik Guldberg Pedersen, Vice President, Manufacturing.
