Topsoe signs contract for the largest WSA plant in China

Topsoe has signed a contract with the Chinese company Bluestar for a WSA plant. The WSA plant is the largest WSA plant ever supplied to China with a capacity of 2 x 300 MTPD.
Recovering sulphuric acid from flue gases
The WSA plant will recover acid gases from Bluestar’s refinery, gasifier and methionine plant as 98% sulphuric acid.
Scope of supply
Topsoe will supply licensing, basic engineering, proprietary equipment, catalyst and supervision. In addition, Topsoe will supply combustors and blowers.
The plant is expected to go on-stream by the end of 2010.
