Topsoe presents joint paper with YPF at the LARTC conference

03-02-2012

Topsoe will present a paper in collaboration with YPF at the up-coming Latin American Refining Technology Conference (LARTC) in Miami 28-29 February. The LARTC is organised by Global Technology Forum (GTF), who also arranges ERTC and ARTC conferences, which are the largest refining industry forum conferences in Europe and Asia.

Presenting a YPF case story

Topsoe will present a case story on how to increase high quality diesel production in a high pressure hydrocracker with the introduction of a new catalyst technology. By installing a new catalyst system in YPF's hydrocracking unit, it was possible to achieve the process targets at reduced temperatures. The new catalyst system provides a very high selectivity to ULSD, meeting the cold flow property requirements while reducing yields of naphtha and light ends.

It enabled YPF to meet the increasing Argentine diesel demand by increasing diesel volume yields by 7%, equivalent to 196 m3/day. This extra diesel production capacity helped significantly to alleviate the Argentine diesel shortcoming.

The paper will be jointly presented by Arturo Bettati, Catalyst Manager at Topsoe and Olivier Cabezudo, Chief Unit Engineer, YPF SA.

Conference opportnunities

"We look forward to presenting this very nice case story on the conference," says Peter Nymann, Technical Manager, Catalyst Division. "The LARTC conference gives us a great opportunity to meet our clients and build new relationships while exchanging experiences from the refining industry."

Topsoe will be present at the LARTC Annual Meeting with Arturo Bettati and Peter Nymann, offering clients the opportunity to meet with Topsoe’s specialists within refining.
