In order to maintain and develop our commercial and scientific position and good reputation, it is crucial that we are responsible and achieve our results in a sustainable way. In fact, acting compliant, transparent, and responsible in all aspects of our business is fundamental to our global operations. Read our Sustainability Report for more information.
We lead our company based on good governance practices and have implemented business structures to ensure that our customers, owners, business partners, and society at large can always trust us.
Topsoe’s Compliance & Sustainability Committee oversees the portfolio of critical requirements and related risks, with regular reporting to the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee.
Code of Conduct
External regulations and business-related expectations are monitored and continuously implemented throughout the organization, through the Code of Conduct, e-learning, policies and processes relating to anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, competition law, health & safety, and other compliance issues.
Compliance Hotline
Topsoe’s compliance hotline provides employees and other stakeholders with a channel for reporting concerns of unethical or unlawful behavior, also anonymously. Hotline reports are handled by the Chief Compliance Officer and the Group General Counsel and status is reported to the Compliance & Sustainability Committee, the Audit Committee every quarter, and the Board of Directors when relevant.
Resilience and business continuity
Our crisis management and emergency response systems are defined to be flexible and applicable to any kind of crisis, accident or disaster. The aim is to limit the impact on people, the environment, and other assets as well as the company’s reputation and external stakeholders.
We supplement this system with an Enterprise Risk Management system which monitors potential issues that could impact our business’ operations or possibilities.
Responsible tax
A responsible, transparent, and consistent approach to tax is essential to the sustainability of Topsoe’s business. We pay taxes where value is created, and we do not use contrived or abnormal tax structures that are intended for tax avoidance, have no commercial substance, or do not meet the spirit of local or international tax law. Topsoe does not use tax havens, where the business activities are elsewhere, in order to gain tax benefits.
Our tax policy is endorsed by the Board of Directors and Audit Committee. Read our tax policy here.
