Modelling Engineer for development of Solid Oxide Technology

Haldor Topsoe is a leading player in the field of high temperature solid oxide electrolysis and the first company in the world to commercialize CO2 to CO electrolysis. Electrolysis technologies will play a key role in future power-to-X applications, enabling fuels and chemicals to be produced with negligible CO2 emissions.

 

We offer a position as modeling engineer in our Solid Oxide Technology department, which is part of our R&D unit. All work is carried out in a collaborative environment where openness, a shared drive for results, and a good working atmosphere are highly valued.
Here you will be part of team of engineers and technicians who are responsible for the development of our solid oxide stacks and electrolysis units. You will drive and ensure our continuous development of our solid oxide stack as well as being responsible for out data processing, which is a cornerstone in our model and stack development efforts. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the continuous development of our simulation models for the solid oxide stacks
  • Driving our modeling effort by setting up and developing models but also by   coordinating with other contributors 
  • Ensuring efficient processing of incoming data streams from our test facilities and commercial plants
  • Development of mathematical model for our solid oxide stacks describing all relevant transport phenomena like heat transport, reactions, electro-chemistry, and CFD
  • Providing feedback to solid oxide stack development based on modelling results.

Qualifications

  • MSc or Ph.D. in engineering or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing models in COMSOL or similar software and good understanding of FEM and Topology optimization is required. 
  • Knowledge of HPC, Bash scripting and Slurm
  • Knowledge of solid oxide technology or other high temperature applications
  • Fluent proficiency in English.
