    Scouting Manager

    Role Purpose

    Drives, leads, implements the development of a regional supply base for global needs in all categories. Follows and support all procurement activities in a dedicated region

     

    Main Accountabilities

    • Reports solid line to CPO, Vice President
    • Drives market scouting and identify potential suppliers based on input from Category management plan or at own initiative
    • Build market intelligence for the allocate region
    • Analyses all potential relevant suppliers in the allocated region for all procurement categories.
    • Drive analysis of risk and opportunities for potential suppliers on behalf of category managers including first level quality checks and support the supplier on-boarding process
    • Report potential sourcing opportunities, capacities as well as potential ramp-up timing
    • Negotiate terms, conditions and collaboration contracts with potential suppliers in collaboration with the Category Managers
    • Coordinate and report all activities with/ to the procurement directors
    • Challenge category managers on existing supply base within allocated regions
    • Support price negotiations with or on behalf of CMs and LBs
    • Support and follows up on sourcing implementation (first test) and execution of actual purchase orders and projects at supplier locations
    • Drives corrective and improvement measures with suppliers when needed

     

    Knowledge, Skills, Experience

    • Master degree (e.g. Cand. Merc.) or bachelor (e.g. HD in Logistics / Supply Chain Management), or similar theoretical level or experience
    • Proven competencies and experience in procurement in industrial project industries
    • In-depth knowledge of procurement and global sourcing
    • Excellence commercial/financial understanding
    • Proven negotiation skills including IP and Business rights protection
    • Project management experience is a plus
    • Understanding for highly engineered solution
    • 5-7 years experience in international organization
