    Account Manager/Chemical Engineer 2022


    This position is needed for a catalyst and technology company in the Clear Lake City area on the southeast side of Houston.

    You will be responsible for selling catalyst and technology, and providing associated catalyst technical service for the industries served. You will need to develop professional relationships with all customers and potential customers. The customers include many levels in the organization including plant manager, engineers and plant superintendents. You will represent the company in a professional manner and will make visits to the assigned customers on a frequency consistent with the current and/or potential business from the customer. You will need to establish a customer visit schedule and should prepare for visits, conduct visits, and provide follow-up with minimal supervision. You will need to prepare an internal visit report for each visit.

    You will perform timely administrative tasks including sales orders, coordination with the Logistics department, providing budget information, technical sales reports, visit reports and maintenance of customer database. Update proposals outstanding in SAP.

    You will need to advise customers with catalyst loading, start-up and other technical services at customer site. Prepares sales quotations based on customer's request. The proposals include SAP entry calculations using in-house developed Kinetic modeling tools and review of customers terms and conditions. Provides technical services to customers relating to selection, use and operation of catalyst products and technology. Will perform technical service to customers through data evaluation, inspections and catalyst sample analyses and participate in on-site loading and start-up service.

    Will identify potential sales in territory for budget purposes as well as planning purposes. Develops a winning strategy that is tailored to each opportunity. Must be able to conduct a convincing technical sales presentation and to take the lead in winning the business.


    • B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
    • Positive and personable attitude. Presentable.
    • Minimum of 5 years process/production/project engineering
    • Preferable experience in major account selling to the refining industry
    • Familiarity with catalytic operations will be beneficial.
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
    • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Proactive and organized
    • Ability to travel domestically approximately 25% to 30%.

    Must have work authorization in the U.S. without sponsorship.
