Desktop Support


This position will be responsible for providing IT support for our users at two locations within our company. The U.S. headquarter office is located in the Clear Lake City area and our Bayport Catalyst Manufacturing plant is located in the Bayport Industrial area in Pasadena, Texas. The position will alternate between both locations.


Some of the responsibilities for this position will be:


  • Responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting computer communication networks.
  • Performs installations, repair and preventative maintenance of physical servers and VM server environment.
  • Monitors Service Desk, provides first line support and dispatches tickets.
  • Maintain Windows servers including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and File Servers.
  • Monitors and maintains LAN/WAN equipment.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all customer issues, coordinate service issues.
  • Serves as project manager / team leader on assigned projects.
  • Serves as liaison to and oversees on-site contractors working on I. T. projects, primarily cable projects.
  • Installs and maintains networked desktop / laptop computers, servers, networks, and associated networked peripheral equipment.
  • May provide leadership, work assignments, training, and guidance to others.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires 5 years of experience.
  • Systems / Network Administrator experience required.
  • Physical server administration including Windows Server, Active Director, DNS, DHCP and DFS.
  • MCSE certification preferred.
  • Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while prioritizing and delivering results on time.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically with a technical vision.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills and a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Must be able to professionally respond to telephone calls, emails, and web-based service requests.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to solve problems not previously encountered.
