Senior principal electrical specialist for Global Electrical and drafting group

We are looking for an Electrical specialist to apply and demonstrate knowledge of Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC) and distribution systems (including AC-DC rectification), electrical safety (including grounding/earthing, hazardous areas, stacks), wiring selection, application standards within engineered systems. In this role you will work closely with Process, Mechanical and Instrumentation experts for design and development of Green H2 with SOEC technology projects all around the globe.


You will join a team consisting of mixed experienced engineers and drafters in an informal organization collaborating globally. The position is located at our headquarters in Lyngby, Denmark. You should expect up to 50 travel days per year.


Your area of responsibility will be: 

  • Developing the core team with Process and Mechanical for designing the SOEC core boxes and its power supplies handling very high temperature and power distribution systems through development of one-line drawings and electrical schematics
  • Work with contractors / vendors to develop and evaluate power/control supply assemblies, including VFD, heaters and transformer selection
  • Evaluate the suitability of electrical products and components to meet technical, cost and codes & standards requirements with respect to grid compliance
  • Participate in cross functional project teams and execute individual project tasks including production documentation releases, test plans and reports, design documents
  • Support internal and external stakeholders, HAZOP, SIL activities
  • Define specifications for ancillary equipment to support core SOEC based green H2 technology
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics for control of overall system
  • Verify system and component capability by developing and implementing robust testing methods
  • Developing the Technical Design Instructions and specifications
  • Support Production Unit developments
  • Provide technical support to Applications Sales team during the bid process
  • Develop the guidelines for SOEC stacks with respect to hazardous areas.



  • You have a degree in Electrical / Electrochemical Engineering or related field and having min. 15 years of industry / research related experience (HV/MV grid power handling, AC-DC conversion systems, etc).


We are looking for personal drive and self-motivation. The ideal candidate can tick off the following: 

  • Have a drive to lead Green hydrogen / ammonia plant design, specifically considering classified area locations per IEC , EN, NFPA
  • Working knowledge, familiarity, and application of NEC, IEC, ISO, and CE Codes and Standards
  • Knowledge and application of voltage ranges from 110VAC to 33kV, 3 phase applications
  • Experience in handling HV/MV grid power
  • Experience in electrolysis process (SOEC preferred)
  • Demonstration of experience simplifying designs, reducing costs and increasing the value of engineered systems
  • Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and creative approach to problem solving
  • Expert in managing subsystem developments, including defining requirements and milestones and executing independently
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Have a desire to work within a multicultural team and challenging environment 
  • Willing to travel (national/ international) for site, inspection and design jobs
  • Specialist in handling medium voltage power systems and grid connections.
