Elena Scaltritti is Chief Commercial Officer. In her role, Elena works closely with customers and partners to help them achieve their decarbonization and emission reduction goals. 

As a member of Topsoe’s Senior Leadership Team, Elena brings unique insights on new market demands, industry trends and innovative technologies. She is responsible for the company’s commercial offerings across existing and emerging markets around the world.  

Elena is a member of the World Refining Association’s Conference advisory board and a leading industry voice on decarbonization of energy-intensive industries and long-distance transportation, with a special focus on sustainable aviation fuels to decarbonize aviation.  

Before joining Topsoe in 2022, Elena served as Executive Vice President at SONGWON Industrial Group, where she was responsible for global commercial activities. She also held leadership roles with BASF, Cipa Specialty Chemicals and Nalco Holding Company. 

Elena earned a B.S. in organic chemistry from the University of Milan and an M.B.A. from the POLIMI School of Management in Milan.  

Fatema Hashem is a Principal Technical Service Engineer, specializing in hydrocracking catalyst solutions and technical services, at Topsoe. She holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in the UK. She joined the company in early 2024 as the region’s hydrocracking specialist. With over 13 years of experience in the refining industry, she started her career in the technical service department in Bapco refinery, and advance to the role of Specialist in residue hydrocracking, where she led the process engineering of the residue hydrocracker during EPC. Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, Fatema remains committed to promoting sustainability in the oil and gas industry, ensuring long‑term value creation for clients. FATH@topsoe.com

Igor Kostromin is a Chemical Engineer and Clean Air Technologies Specialist with 14 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. As a key player at Topsoe A/S, he has been instrumental in developing their Clean Air technology business across the Middle East, India, and the CIS region. Igor’s expertise extends to licensing and business development, fostering successful partnerships within the clean air technology landscape. His dedication to regional market development has played an important role in establishing Topsoe as a leading global provider of technology and solutions for the energy transition.
