    The vast majority of chemicals produced today rely on fossil fuels as an energy source or a feedstock – often both. As a result, out of all the world’s industries, chemicals is currently the second highest emitter of CO₂.¹ To address this, the chemicals industry is investing in production processes that create lower emissions.  

    Syngas is an essential building block in many different chemical processes. At Topsoe we offer several types of reforming technologies for producing high-purity syngas from natural gas and a wide variety of alternative feedstock solutions. It can be used to create green ammonia, green methanol and blue hydrogen, all of which can play crucial roles in the production of zero- or low-emissions chemical products.

Both offer superior efficiency and a long lifetime of unmatched performance. Our dynamic ammonia synthesis loop also has the flexibility to allow for fluctuating feedstock supplies. 

    We, at Topsoe, have supplied methanol loops and carried out converter revamps for over 40 years and have more than 50 references worldwide. To meet decarbonization goals, we developed our proven ModuLite™ solution to now feature dynamic operation for optimal handling of green hydrogen feedstock for the optimized production of green methanol. 

    Circular solutions are increasingly favoured in the chemicals industry. Our groundbreaking PureStep™ solution removes impurities from liquified feedstock, meaning new plastic can be created from low-grade mixed waste, including tires, municipal solid waste and products containing PVC.
