Topsoe introduces a new catalyst specifically engineered to maximise conversion in the lean gas conditions found in the lower passes of a sulphuric acid plant. Building on the performance of VK38+, this bed-specific optimisation can significantly improve overall plant conversion. Industrial data from the first full-scale references will be presented, demonstrating benefits that include halving emissions, reducing scrubber chemical consumption, and increasing plant capacity while maintaining compliance.
