The role and impact

We are looking for a transformative Head of PMO to merge and consolidate two separate PMO teams into a single, unified center of excellence. You will actively design and execute the blueprint to a clear, central operating model which enables our Global supply to drive effective and prioritized projects.

Your portfolio directly impacts our end-to-end global production, technology, supply chain and procurement strategies.

As our new Head of PMO you will help ensure that decision-making and prioritization are based on transparent, accurate, and relevant data.  Your role in bringing together existing PMO setups into one aligned function includes defining and implementing common standards and clear ways of working. And you have a key role in ensuring that the team works as one team with clear direction, roles, and priorities. 

This is a strategic leadership role with a strong operational focus. You will lead the central PMO team as well as project control functions such as schedulers and risk managers, and you will collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, senior leadership, and key stakeholders across the organization. 

Your main responsibilities include:

• Define and implement the PMO operating model, governance, risk management, reporting, and project controls framework across customer and investment projects
• Drive portfolio transparency and strengthen project and portfolio follow-up through robust milestone, risk, schedule, and performance management
• Align and standardize PMO practices across existing setups, building one strong and value-adding PMO function
• Provide senior leadership with trusted portfolio insights and decision support, while building strong collaboration across key functions and stakeholders

What you’ll bring
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience within PMO, project management, risk management, project controls, or portfolio management. You may have proven people management experience or extensive experience in working with project and portfolio management with high complexity.

You have a relentless focus on what creates value for the business and has the ability to set a clear direction and to simultaneously bring stakeholders along on the change journey. You thrive in navigating the complexity of an organization to effectively create solutions and solve problems. 

While your focus is on strategic leadership and team integration, you are ready to roll up your sleeves and lead critical projects from the front as part of your role.

To succeed in this role, you likely bring:

• Experience from complex project environments, including technical delivery and/or investment projects
• Experience building a PMO from scratch or reshaping an existing setup
• Strong understanding of PMO operating models, governance, reporting, and performance management
• Experience driving alignment and standardization across functions or business areas
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• A relevant degree in engineering, business, finance, project management, or similar

It is an advantage if you have leadership training and certifications such as PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2, or similar.

Your new team
You will lead the central PMO and project control functions within Global Supply including Topsoe’s production sites, technology area, procurement and supply chain. The team works globally and includes employees across Denmark, India, and Malaysia, bringing together different competencies and perspectives to support successful project delivery and strong portfolio oversight.
