    Senior Process Engineer & Process Specialist

    Role and impact:
    We are seeking experienced process engineers and process design specialists to join our dedicated team of design engineers and experts. In this role, you will collaborate closely with highly skilled colleagues on state-of-the-art process design, process control, HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), operator training, and start-up activities.

    Your responsibilities will include cross-functional collaboration during project execution and on-site activities, mentoring and training colleagues worldwide, and contributing to knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and optimization of workflows. The position involves up to 20–50 travel days per year, offering opportunities to engage with international projects and clients.

    Main tasks now and in the coming year wil be:

    • Process simulation, process control philosophy, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and manuals for priority projects
    • Supporting customers during P&ID review, HAZOP, operator training, and start-ups
    • Handling technical queries from customers during and after project execution
    • Coordinating project activities with internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, licensing managers, technology experts, and customers
    • Facilitating technical review meetings such as equipment and P&ID reviews
    • Option to support new green synthesis gas projects, such as power-to-X initiatives

    What you will bring:
    To succeed in this role, you should bring strong expertise in syngas process design and plant operations, along with solid experience in process simulation for syngas technologies, including catalyst selection and conceptual design. A good understanding of process and equipment functionality, including downstream upgrading, is essential.

    You should be familiar with the interfaces between basic engineering, detailed engineering, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project execution, and have an interest in developing new process designs and plant layouts. Commitment to delivering high-quality engineering and robust on-site support to clients is key, as is a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, efficiency, and competitiveness.

    You must be able to understand customer needs and translate them into practical solutions, balance the requirements of multiple stakeholders, and deliver results in challenging environments with a high level of drive and self-motivation. Global collaboration skills and the ability to work across cultures and disciplines are important, as are excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Willingness to travel globally for site work and client meetings is required.

    A degree in Chemical Engineering is expected, and experience in process design within methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, or related syngas technologies is highly valued. Experience from start-ups and/or plant operations is an advantage, and EPC experience is considered a plus.
