The role and impact
Global Procurement is Topsoe’s centralized procurement unit with global responsibility, and we now offer a position as Senior Category Manager for PtX categories. You will be part of Project Procurement with 17 motivated employees, that together with colleagues from Raw Material and Indirect deliver strong and sustainable results to Topsoe. 

We have the responsibility to initiate, govern and implement efficient and effective procurement activities across Topsoe. We have a strong focus on continuously improving our cost picture, ensuring right and sufficient suppliers as well as add value to our stakeholders to free up resources for exciting and significant growth opportunities in our company. Category Management is a key process to sustain our way of working. We are focused on becoming a best-in-class procurement team using category management, proactive approach towards our stakeholders and ambitious goals for our value contribution to Topsoe

In this position as Senior Category Manager for our PtX categories, you will be responsible for handling Tier 1 and 2 suppliers fabricating large quantities of standardized technical categories, often using assembly lines or automation technology. You will address a significant part of Topsoe’s project spend and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels

Key responsibilities: 

• Lead category planning, management, and global sourcing strategies
• Manage supplier segmentation and a competitive global supply base
• Drive cost-competitive sourcing projects and negotiate strategic partnerships
• Identify and deliver category initiatives focused on total cost, risk mitigation, and business impact
• Prioritize and execute savings initiatives aligned with business demand
• Build strong stakeholder networks to ensure effective sourcing implementation
• Own and develop key supplier relationships into strategic partnerships
• Collaborate with lead buyers to ensure supplier qualification and project execution
• Ensure sustainability, compliance, and integrity across all categories in line with Topsoe standards.

What you’ll bring 
You bring strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels as well as with global suppliers. You are a team-oriented professional who builds trust and partnerships naturally, while remaining confident and decisive in your approach. A solid understanding of project processes, combined with hands-on experience in category management, allows you to navigate complex, fast-paced environments and drive results. You are proactive, solution-focused, and comfortable challenging the status quo when needed, and you are flexible to travel for supplier engagement as required.

We expect you to have: 

• Experience with automotive Tier 1 & 2 suppliers and managing multi-million spend
• Strong track record driving cross-functional projects and delivering results
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent industry experience
• In-depth expertise in procurement, global sourcing, and commercial/financial analysis
• Clear understanding of procurement’s value and ability to communicate it to stakeholders
  Solid category and project management experience within the automotive industry
• 3–5 years in a regional/international organization with documented category management results
• Strong knowledge of supplier markets for complex technical categories
