    Environmental Sustainability Specialist (parental leave cover)

    The role and impact
    We are looking for an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our Sustainability team on a parental leave cover.

    The position has an emphasis on life cycle assessment (LCA) across Topsoe’s portfolio, combined with broader environmental sustainability tasks, such as leading our net-zero work on climate change and maturing our circular economy framework.

    You will work cross-functionally with colleagues in R&D, HSSE, Procurement, Production, Commercial, Finance and Communications to execute on projects aimed a positioning Topsoe as a sustainability leader within our industry. 

    You can expect to work on tasks such as:

    • Complete, update and communicate LCAs on catalyst solutions and contribute to continued development and maturation of Topsoe’s LCA program.
    • Ensure continued momentum in the integration of sustainability in product development in line with the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework.
    • Help drive implementation of our net zero plan by supporting relevant working groups and contributing to the refinement and execution of the decarbonization roadmap and associated projects.
    • Mature and drive commercially viable circular economy initiatives across the value chain – addressing recycled raw materials, waste and spend catalysts.
    • Lead and support implementation of Topsoe’s Sustainability Progress Plan with a focus on environmental sustainability – including contribution to reporting, performance tracking and communication. 

    What you’ll bring 

    •  A relevant academic degree within natural sciences or economics/business.
    • 5+ years of relevant sustainability experience from industry and/or consultancy.
    • Knowledge about LCA and translating LCA insights into decision-making in commercial and R&D.
    • Knowledge of environmental regulations, ISO standards and non-financial data management systems (e.g., SAP) is an advantage.
    • Strong communication, negotiation and project management skills; a self-driven mindset and ability to align with and mobilize stakeholders across an organization.
    • A commercial, global mindset with customer focus and the ability to deliver results in a multicultural environment.

    You will join the Sustainability team, an ambitious and motivated team of six people, covering Environmental Sustainability, LCA, and Social Sustainability. Our team is passionate, engaged and driven by a strong sense of purpose. As part of the Sustainability team, you will work from our headquarters in Lyngby, surrounded by colleagues who are committed to making a positive impact on the world.
