    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Location Houston, TX, United States
    Job Category Sales
    Deadline August 28, 2026

    Headline  Senior Mechanical Engineer

    The role and impact
As a Mechanical Engineer in Topsoe’s Hardware Technology team, you will support the sale, service, and installation of Topsoe hardware projects for downstream and new energy applications in North and South America, primarily in the U.S. The role is client-facing and requires a solution-oriented mindset, strong stakeholder management, and a firm commitment to safety, business standards and ethics.

In this role, you will advise clients during construction or turnaround phases, oversee installation tasks, and make critical onsite decisions. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and vendors to solve project design and scheduling challenges, manage non-conformance reports, design and review 3D models of proprietary hardware, perform mechanical calculations, and organize shop inspections to verify fabrication accuracy and design tolerances.

You will also support project tracking, SAP entry, commercial proposals, planning activities, and prototyping work using 3D printing. The role includes travel of approximately 25% annually, with possible additional travel during the training period.

    What you’ll bring
You hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and are able to work independently with a self-motivated approach. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, a positive and personable attitude, and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

    1. You are comfortable working directly with clients and co-workers in the field, with strong onsite communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. You also have strong computer skills and are willing to travel approximately 25%.
    2. Because this role includes work in petrochemical facilities, you must be comfortable entering confined spaces, working at heights, climbing ladders, and wearing the appropriate PPE for the task. An active TWIC card, or the ability to obtain one, is also required.
    3. Preferred qualifications include one or more years of experience and familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, SAP, and Salesforce
