    Pure streams - cost-efficiently

    Even small amounts of oxygen in industrial gases can compromise product quality and downstream processes. Our O2Xtract™ solution is designed to cost-efficiently help overcome this issue. By removing traces of oxygen from gas streams, it helps ensure a high level of purification enabling the gases to meet even the strictest industry specifications, to be used in fuel cells, pipelines or chemical production. On top of this, the removal of oxygen helps protect sensitive equipment and extend the life of downstream catalysts.

    O2Xtract™: an energy-efficient solution at low operating costs

    O2Xtract removes traces of oxygen from hydrogen, but also, upon hydrogen addition, from gases as carbon dioxide and nitrogen across a wide range of temperatures and pressures. It is the ability of O2Xtract to perform well at low temperatures, that makes the solution particularly well-suited for water electrolysis by alkaline or PEM cells to ensure higher purity of the hydrogen stream.

    This performance across a wide range of temperatures is enabled by our palladium-based CK-304 catalyst which ensures high performance, even at low temperatures, and a long operating cycle. The catalyst comes in active form and does not require any activation onsite. It ensures wide turndown ratio to make operation as flexible as possible.

    O2Xtract purified hydrogen complies with the strictest modern specifications:

    • ISO 14687-2:2025 for fuel cell hydrogen

    • EASEE-gas recommendations for network grade hydrogen

    Carbon dioxide can be purified to comply with the following purity standards:

    • ISO/TR 27921:2020 for captured CO2

    • ISO 27913:2024 for CO2 pipelines

    H2 and CO2, ready for e-fuels production

    Green hydrogen and biogenic carbon dioxide can be converted into valuable green chemicals and fuels, such as eMethanol, renewable natural gas (RNG), e-fuels (including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel) and carbon monoxide.

    With the O2Xtract catalytic solution hydrogen can be purified to the highest standards, up to 99.999% and above, making it compliant with current requirements for e.g. green hydrogen and future-proof for evolving regulations.

    Combining oxygen removal with VOC removal

    O2Xtract can also be combined with the catalytic oxidation solution, CATOX™ in a two-step catalytic system. In such process, O2Xtract removes the surplus of oxygen used for catalytic volatile organic compound (VOC) removal. This combined powerful solution ensures optimal gas purity and compliance with even the strictest food and industry specifications.

    Catalysts for the oxygen removal process

    The catalysts applied for the O2Xtract solution are based on precious metals on a carrier. The noble metal content has been optimized for a cost optimal solution which helps to significantly reduce the OPEX.
