    Lead Public Affairs for Topsoe in China – Shape the Future of Energy Transition 

    The role and impact
    As the Head of Public Affairs, China, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Topsoe’s strategic interests in one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets. Based in Beijing and reporting directly to the Chief Sustainability and External Affairs Officer, you will be an integral part of Topsoe’s Global Public Affairs function. You will collaborate closely with Topsoe’s China team, Global Commercial and Power-to-X business units, and Communications function to lead government engagement, build brand awareness, develop key contacts, monitor policies, contribute to communications, and advise on risks. Your work will 
    directly influence Topsoe’s reputation, commercial success, and long-term positioning in China’s energy transition landscape. Key responsibilities include:  

    • Establishing credible, senior-level relationships with central government ministries and regulatory authorities relevant to Topsoe’s technologies 
    • Developing and executing a coherent China public affairs strategy aligned with global advocacy priorities and commercial objectives
    • Supporting and de-risking strategic engagement with priority state-owned enterprises in close coordination with business teams
    • Delivering timely, actionable policy intelligence and risk analysis on China’s energy, industrial, and decarbonization landscape to global leadership
    • Building and strengthening Topsoe’s reputation and visibility within China’s energy, policy, and research ecosystem. 

    What you’ll bring  
    To succeed in this position, we hope you bring us with the following competencies and experiences:

    • Native-level Chinese (Mandarin) proficiency and full professional fluency in English
    • A bachelor’s degree or higher from a top university; advanced degrees in public policy, engineering, economics, international relations, or related fields are a plus
    • 10-15+ years of relevant experiences:
      • Strong experience working with or for relevant Chinese government ministries, regulatory authorities, state-owned enterprises, or closely related institutions
      • Experience working for a multi-national company 
    • Deep understanding of China’s policy, regulatory, and industrial landscape, particularly as it relates to energy, industrial decarbonization, or clean technologies
    • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, with senior government officials, industry leaders, and internal stakeholders
    • Demonstrated political and institutional acumen, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
    • Experience developing and executing engagement strategies across policy, regulatory, and industry settings
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and operate effectively in a global matrix organization
    • Willingness to work flexibly across time zones and manage competing deadlines with moderate supervision
