    The strategic goal of the Clean Fuels TS&S department is to contribute to the company business growth, acting as key market differentiator. Valuable services that focus on safe and sustainable plant operation are set up to secure our clients’ maximum profits from assets that are equipped with Topsoe products.

    The job roles within Technical Sales & Service Engineer (TS&SE) are being focused on, but not limited to being responsible for the content and the quality of performance evaluation reports of the unit, technical proposals, after-sales technical support, internal knowledge sharing as well as on-site technical service at the client sites.

    Activities may include technical advisory assistance provided both at the office or at the client site:

    On-site activities:

    Catalyst loading, unit start-up, installing, testing and inspecting products, equipment, and systems.

    Office tasks:

    Monitoring the performance of currently loaded catalysts and units; applying corporate standard calculation tools, methodologies and best practices; preparing performance evaluation reports for the installed catalysts, preparing technical proposals; upon a need, proposing relevant guarantees related to client goals and/or unit specific targets; maintaining ongoing relationships with customers to secure and develop their future business; referring sales leads, customer feedback, and ideas for new products, technology, or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs to appropriate contacts within the organization; resolving recurring problems to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction, as well as responding to customer enquiries on performance issues and performing inspections at the unit sites.

     

     

    Core assignments

    The objective for a Principal Technical Services Engineer is to perform core and special assignments independently. Assignments refer both to office and on-site tasks. Special assignments are determined by the technical manager and may require working in close collaboration with multiple departments (e.g. troubleshooting, pilot plant testing, etc). In addition, the engineer may own, issue or update guidelines for the global technical support organization on how to conduct specific tasks.

    Technical tasks

     

    • Perform and fully document catalyst reloads calculations and prepare technical proposals and recommendations in close cooperation with the Account Manager.
    • Perform and fully document calculations related to spent catalysts and provide recommendation for further optimization of reloads in close dialogue with the client.
    • Demonstrate proactive approach in receiving and handling operating data from running references within a framework established with the relevant Account Manager in order to prepare “Performance Evaluation Reports”.
    • Maintain frequent contacts with clients to provide required technical services and timely troubleshooting upon a need.
    • Supports/supervises technical tasks performed by Sr Technical Service Engineer
    • Participate actively in sales and technical meetings with customers.
    • Help to improve training material for new TS&S employees, operators’ trainings and seminars
    • Participate as trainer for new TS&S employees in alignment with technical manager.
    • Contribute with mid-long terms development task
    • Participate actively in knowledge sharing
    • Participate as speaker at customer training or relevant conferences

     

     

    On-site jobs

     

    • Provides on-site technical assistance during loading and start-up in accordance with Topsoe standards.
    • Gathers information related to the unit when being on site in order to perform optimal performance evaluation, troubleshooting etc
    • Prepares trip reports and suggest improvements to document relevant information.
    • Prepares information necessary for client meetings (bids discussion, presentations, performance evaluations, catalysts life follow-ups).
    • Contributes with the improvement of internal start-up procedures based on lessons learned at site.

     

     

    Internal training for basic routing task and catalysts calculations

     

    • Actively participate in the preparation and execution of the training program for new employees for basic routing tasks (loading, start-up, spent catalysts) and catalyst calculation

     

    What you’ll bring
    You bring a strong technical background in refinery processes and technologies, with the ability to specialize in two or more applications such as Distillate Hydrotreater (DHT), Kerosene Hydrotreater (KHT), or Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT), and become a subject matter expert in at least one. You are adept at performing calculations for both conventional and non-conventional applications, such as Tail Gas, Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) post-treatment, or Dewaxing fossil processes. Your proactive approach enables you to establish direct communication as a key sparring partner for customers, and you possess a fundamental understanding of renewable co-processing in hydrotreating units. You are skilled in preparing technical proposals, performance evaluation reports, and delivering presentations or articles in relevant business areas. Your collaborative mindset supports knowledge sharing, training, and operational development, while your strong understanding of the sales process and refinery integration ensures you can contribute effectively to both technical and commercial objectives.
