Stable HDN and HDS activity throughout the cycle

In mild hydrocracking (MHC), the main objectives are to obtain a certain minimum conversion between 15–50% as well as meeting specific product properties, such as sulfur content, density, cloud point and cetane number. At typical pressures in the 60-110 bar range, meeting these parameters can be challenging and cycle lengths are often determined not by conversion rates, but by a failure to comply with specifications.

Topsoe’s range of MHC catalysts and technologies enable you to meet these challenges, whatever your product specifications. Our mild hydrocracking catalysts deliver excellent nitrogen tolerance, resulting in very stable hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity throughout the cycle.

Our Staged Partial Conversion (SPC) hydrocracking process enables high-quality ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) to be produced in an fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) pretreater. With no overtreating of the FCC feedstock, the process optimizes your hydrogen use and costs, while ensuring a stable heat balance in the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit.
