About Hydroprocessing Course 2024

Enhance your hydroprocessing knowledge with our comprehensive program that covers a wide array of topics, such as understanding the hydroprocessing catalysts, reactor internals and the fundamentals of hydroprocessing units for wide variety of feedstocks, as well  as techniques for selecting the right catalyst for your hydroprocessing unit. 

Who should attend?

The course is designed for refinery engineers who work with hydroprocessing and related catalysts and processes, as well as more experienced engineers interested in a refresher course. A further major benefit is the opportunity to discuss with Topsoe experts about specific technical and operational issues.

Schedule

Facilitated by Topsoe technical experts with many years of experience between them, the course will cover a wide range of topics associated with hydroprocessing. These include:

  • Hydroprocessing reactions
  • Reaction kinetics and feedstock dependency
  • Catalyst preparation and selection
  • Effect of operating conditions - optimize your performance
  • Understand your hydrotreater and hydrocracker layout
  • Catalyst loading and activation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Pressure drop control
  • Renewable fuels and dewaxing

In addition to theoretical sessions, our course features a practical day on day 2, where participants have the option to either visit our state-of-the-art R&D facilities or attend a workshop on troubleshooting and handling emergency situations. By visiting Topsoe's R&D facilities, attendees will gain valuable insights into the cutting-edge technologies and research that drive the hydroprocessing field forward. Meanwhile, the workshop provides participants with the necessary knowledge to effectively optimize and troubleshoot their hydroprocessing units, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at their units

The program also incorporates a "Renewable Afternoon" to provide a comprehensive introduction to processing renewable feedstocks and revamping units for renewable fuels.
Please note that this program is preliminary and may be subject to minor changes. A more detailed program with specific session titles and times will be sent out to the participants when we get closer to the course.

 

 

 

 

Hotel accommodation 

The training course is held at Scandic Copenhagen Hotel, which is located centrally in Copenhagen. If you wish to stay at this hotel, Topsoe has secured rooms here at a fixed rate per night for the nights of September 15 to September 19, 2024:

  • Double room for single use: DKK 1,475 (EUR 200) per day, including breakfast

Guarantee
In connection with the hotel booking, to guarantee your reservation, you will be asked to provide your credit card details. Your credit card will not be charged prior to your arrival and will only be used to guarantee your accommodation. You will need to present the same credit card when you check in. Please note that if you do not show up at the hotel on the day of arrival, a cancellation fee equivalent to the full pre-booked stay will apply

Registration Cancellation 

All cancellation notifications should be emailed to topsoeacademy@topsoe.com 

A cancellation / no show fee of €150.00 will be charged for all registrations cancelled 30 working days or less before the event. Cancellations made after this date will be subject to the cancellation / no show fee.

Hotel cancellations do not form part of Topsoe's responsibility and will apply as per the individual hotel T&C's available on the accommodation booking page of the registration site. 

Notification of cancellation will be sent no later than 16 August 2024.

Payment Method

Registration fee is EUR 2,000 per participant. 
The registration fee includes daily lunches and coffee breaks and one Topsoe hosted dinner. Travel and accommodation expenses are not included.
